Wings & Wheels returns July 7

Planes and automobiles featured at annual event

June 23, 2018 — The annual Wings and Wheels Car Show and Aircraft Fly-In is scheduled for Saturday, July 7, at the Florence Municipal Airport, 2001 Airport Lane.

This year’s special attraction will be a World War II F4U Corsair and an AT6 Texan World War II Trainer.

A raffle is being held for a ride in the Texan, with a limited number of tickets available at $5 each. Tickets are available through Tuesday, July 3, at Florence In Bloom, Sears, the Oregon Coast Military Museum and the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center.

Tickets will also be on sale at Wings & Wheels until 11:45 a.m. July 7.

The planes will be arriving at the airport on Friday, July 6.

The drawing will be held at noon at Wings & Wheels and the winner must be present to win. The ride will be available weather permitting. The winner of the ride will have the opportunity to fly the plane once in the air.

Rides will be available all day, weather permitting, for $300 each.

The Corsair will be on display all day during Wings and Wheels. Gates open for the public at 10 a.m.

The show closes at 3 p.m. following the trophy presentation.
