Voter registration deadline April 27 for May Special Election

People will be able to vote on boards of directors for fire, water, school districts

April 24, 2021 — The voter registration deadline for the May 18, 2021 Special Election is Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

People who are not registered to vote in any Oregon county may register online at no later than 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, April 27.


Registration options include:

  • Online at no later than 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, April 27. The online option is available to those with a valid Oregon driver’s license, DMV-issued identification card or learner’s permit.
  • Submit a voter registration form to the Lincoln Street Drop Box next to the Elections Office by 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 27.
  • Mail a voter registration card to the Elections Office with a postmark no later than Tuesday, April 27.


New voters who will turn 18 on or before the May 18 Election Day may register by the April 27 deadline and receive a ballot, even if they are still 17 on the registration deadline date.

The Lincoln Street ballot drop box at Lane County Elections will be open now through Tuesday, April 27, at 5 p.m. to make it easier for voters to drop off completed registration cards.
