VOGEL—Robert “Bob” Arnold Vogel passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021.

VOGEL—Robert “Bob” Arnold Vogel, beloved husband of Nancy, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021.

He died in the arms of his wife, with his daughter Sandra, granddaughter Amanda, and sister Susie around his bed. Also there were Nancy’s son Byron, and her sister Christine, along with Bob’s best friend Rick, as well as several other family members.

Bob was born on October 20, 1941, in Busley Point, N.J., to Karl Robert and Natalie (Milke) Vogel. He moved with his parents and sister, to Tujunga, Calif., when he was 13.

He graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in 1959, and joined the Navy in January 1960, for four years.

After being honorably discharged, Bob went to work for Lockheed Corporation in Burbank. Eventually, he became a plant manager for the Skunkworks Division in Palmdale, Calif.

He retired after 33 years on the job, and moved here to Florence, for his 25 years of retirement. He moved into Florentine Estates, where he lived until his passing.

In 2004, Bob’s sister and Nancy’s mother introduced the two here in Florence from their homes in Southern California. It was an immediate, wonderful match, and Bob and Nancy were married in January 2005.

Bob is survived by his wife, sister, daughter and granddaughter, as well as a grandson,

Connor J. Nelson. He is also survived by his niece, Natalie Edmonds (Stephen) and their son, Evan, and his nephew, Brent Spiva (Kate). Also surviving him are Nancy’s sons, Byron Kephart (Teresa), and Jon Godden (Bobbi), and the grandchildren, Kristiana Looney (Nathan), Kalina Kephart, Josiah Kephart, Dustin Tilley, Shaylin Godden, CharliAnn Godden, and Jayden Godden.

They have two great-grandsons, Gene and Benjamin Looney.

Bob has been cremated through Burns Mortuary, and his ashes will be spread into the ocean at a later time, when family can come back. At his request, no services are planned.
