Troy Sathe

Troy Sathe passed away on Sept. 13, 2021
SATHE—Troy Sathe, of Sweet Home, Ore., passed away on Sept. 13, 2021. He was 54 years old.
Troy was born and raised in Florence, Ore., and spent the last 10 years in Sweet Home, while returning to Florence whenever he had the opportunity.
He was in the Boy Scouts, where he achieved the Level of Life Scout. Just a few badges from Eagle Scout, but he decided to put his efforts toward church youth group instead.
He graduated from Siuslaw High School in 1985 and attended Lane Community College.
Troy enjoyed golfing and worked at Sandpines Golf Course for many years. He loved kids and helped with the junior golf program and was able to go to Japan to play golf with the owner.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and camped every year with his family. He loved everything outdoors. He enjoyed helping kids on free fishing day as well. As part of that, Troy loved to take his nieces Ariana and Tia fishing, which created many lasting memories of their Uncle "Bubba."
During the fall, Troy and his dad hunted together and, the last few years, Bill would spend the month of October in Sweet Home with Troy hunting after work every day!
Troy was a former Dunes City Councilor and head of the Road Commission for several years.
In addition, Troy and his sister June spent a lot of time going on road trips, rock hunting all over Oregon and they were the best of friends. Troy enjoyed visiting his sister Wendy and brother-in-law Vito, when they had birthday parties for their girls. They spent a lot of time visiting the Portland Zoo.
Troy is survived by his mother and father Theresa and Bill Sathe, sister June Sathe, sister Wendy Piscitelli (Vito), two nieces Tia Piscitelli and Ariana Ware (Mitch) and one great-nephew Leo Ware. He is preceded in death by his brother Will Sathe.
