The Littlefoots, the South Coast League Rookies team, went 7-1 overall en route to the tournament title

June 19, 2019 — With teams coming from as far away as Idaho, the annual Rick & Corrine Gehlke All-Star Baseball Tournament was played over the course of two days, June 15 and 16, at Miller Park, where Florence's Siuslaw Basbeall Softball Association (SBSA) fielded its own all-star teams for the Rookies, Minors and Majors brackets.

The Littlefoots (above), the South Coast League Rookies team, went 7-1 overall en route to the tournament title. Their only loss came against the Boise Idaho team in a narrow 9-10 loss, which the Littlefoots avenged with an 18-10 win in the semi finals before beating North Bend 14-3 in the championship game. Florence's Majors team went 6-2 overall, finishing second after falling to South Umpqua twice — including in the title game, 10-0. Along the way, the Majors beat Reedsport (7-6), Lincoln City (8-4), Gold Coast (4-3), North Bend (12-8) and SET (Siletz-Eddyville-Toledo) 11-7.

The Minors team for Siuslaw was eliminated on the second day. This Saturday, Miller Park will be home to the Rick & Corrine Gehlke Softball Tournament, June 22-23.
