State parks now open in Siuslaw region — with caveats

All facilities “may close without notice.”

State parks throughout the Siuslaw region reopened for business on Friday as the state began loosening restrictions throughout Oregon. The majority of parks will only be available for limited daytime use only.

For Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park, recommendations from the Oregon state, “Be prepared to turn around if crowded,” the website for Honeyman reads. “Bring your own water, food and hand sanitizer. Do not travel far to visit.”

Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park’s beach access is open to limited daytime use.

“Be prepared to turn around if crowded,” the website warns.

The lighthouse at Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint will be closed, but the park will be open for limited day use. Visitors are also requested to bring their own water, food and hand sanitizer, and they should also be prepared to turn around if crowded.
