Skies clear for Boys & Girls Club ball drop

A small crowd of adults and children gathered at Florence Golf Links for the Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County’s helicopter ball drop. The event was originally scheduled as part of the Fore! the Kids Golf Classic on June 4. A helicopter owned by Jeff Hendrickson dropped hundreds of golf balls on the 18th hole to see who win would win the prize for closest and farthest from the pin. Photos by Zac Burtt/Siuslaw News
