Honorable Mention - Chad Hughes - SHS Senior

Oct. 5, 2021 — The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Siuslaw Viking junior football player Ian Sissel. Ian's play on both sides of the ball helped Siuslaw score their first 4-0 start since 2013. On defense he had an 87-yard return on a fumble recovery. On offense he rushed 7 times for 77 yards. Ian's blocking and tackling also contributed to the 38-34 victory against the reigning state champions, Cascade Christian.

Honorable mention - Chad Hughes - Sr - SHS Cross Country

Honorable mention goes to Viking senior cross country runner Chad Hughes. Chad took first place in Saturday's Woahink Invitational with a time of 17:00.5 leading the Viking boys to a victory.
