SHS students awarded $230,000 in scholarships

June 6, 2018 — Once again, the greater Florence community came out to support local students and their educational aspirations. On May 24, local community groups and organizations awarded $232,450 in local scholarships to 50 graduating seniors to attend college, community college or other career training programs.

“Scholarship Night is as much a tribute to our community as it is to the commitment of our students as they strive to achieve their goals and make the world a better place for all in the future,” said Siuslaw School District Superintendent Andy Grzeskowiak.

Siuslaw High School acknowledged both the student awardees and the generosity of the organizations that made scholarship night the success that it has grown to become over the years.
