Aug. 28, 2019 — Literary art is now part of the Second Saturday cultural ArtWalk in Old Town Florence starting in September.
Writers on the River invites all writers and poets to a “Second Saturday Literary Salon & Writers Social” on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Bodega Wine Parlor, 180 Laurel St. off of Bay Street in Old Town Florence.
Free and open to the public, the event is hosted by award-winning journalist and author Catherine Rourke to bring writers of all genres together in the spirit of literary camaraderie. Writers can share excerpts from their books, poems and works in progress or converse over wine and coffee in a relaxed parlor atmosphere away from the writing desk.
Designed as convivial gatherings, literary salons celebrate local writers and the literary arts. They help inspire, unite and celebrate all writers while providing cultural enrichment and entertainment in the style of the literary salons of 1920s Paris.
Reading slots are limited to five minutes on a first-come basis. Join them at Florence’s new art hub and parlor and showcase your creativity at the Second Saturday Salon and Social.
