Feb. 1, 2020 — Award-winning duo Bettman & Halpin perform original, toe tapping, and heartfelt Americana Folk music. They will perform in Florence on Wednesday, Feb. 5, as part of SEAcoast Entertainment Association’s 2019-20 season.
Bettman & Halpin’s live show is a combination of old-time vaudevillian humor and instrumental “wow” factor. Consisting of Stephanie Bettman and Luke Halpin, they have been touring as a duo since 2008.
Bettman is an accomplished writer, singer and fiddler. Her lyrics are infused with wit and wisdom, poetry and insight. A former actress and trapeze artist, Bettman is at ease in front of an audience and creates authentic intimacy with her crowd no matter the size.
Halpin is a renowned multi-instrumentalist, mastering guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and nearly anything he picks up. A dynamic and sensitive vocalist himself, the harmony blend he and Bettman achieve is chilling and at times simply transcendent.
They have become as known for their storytelling and playful banter as well as for their hooky whole-hearted songwriting and instrumental wizardry.
Bettman & Halpin’s high-energy, upbeat bluegrass inspired compositions, beautiful ballads and soaring vocals with groovy feel-good songs will have audiences dancing in their seats and singing in their heads for weeks after.
SEAcoast is hosting a pre-concert talk with the artists at 6:15 p.m. before the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are on sale now at the Florence Events Center — 715 Quince St., 541-997-1994 and www.eventcenter.org — for $35 for adults and $10 for students.
