Though Mapleton's football season officially ended a week earlier at Elkton, the Sailors were back on the gridiron at home last Friday for a non-league match-up with the Special District 1-North’s fifth-place Mustangs of Mohawk.

The game between the two fifth-place teams had no impact on standings and was essentially an exhibition contest, which the Sailors dominated from start to finish in a 50-8 victory.

Mapleton, 1-4 in the Special District 1-South, will not advance into the post season.

Lowell went undefeated (5-0), followed by Elkton (4-1), North Douglas (3-2), Yoncalla (2-3), Mapleton (1-4) and Oakridge (0-5).

St. Paul won the Special District 1-North at 6-0, followed by Falls City/Kings Valley Charter (5-1), Siletz Valley (4-2), Perrydale (3-3), Mohawk (2-4), Waldport (1-5) and Crow (0-6).
