Safe Shelter hosts school clothes swap & giveaway Aug. 17-18

August 16, 2022 — Safe Shelter for Siuslaw Students invites any students in need of clothing — or anyone with clothing for school-aged children that they’d like to donate — to come to the Siuslaw Middle School gym, 2525 Oak St. in Florence, today or tomorrow, Aug. 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a clothing giveaway and swap.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to donate, exchange or shop for clothes for the upcoming school year.

“Donate clothes or trade in outgrown clothes for ones that fit,” says Jennifer Ledbetter, an administrative assistant with Safe Shelter for Siuslaw Students. “Kids can select new underwear and socks or come pick out a fresh outfit.”

No donation necessary for students to take home clothes, but if donating please wash clothes before. Donations should be in good repair.

Safe Shelter is a secular 501c3 nonprofit working to mitigate the effects of unstable housing and the experiences of homelessness to the families and youth of the Siuslaw Region.
