May 29, 2019 — The local Florence homeschool group will be presenting its seventh-annual Shakespeare performance on Friday, May 31, at 5:30 p.m., at Honeyman State Park in the meadow (across from the bathrooms), then again on Tuesday, June 4, at 3:30 p.m. at the Florence Farmers Market, located at the west end of Bay Street next to the Veteran’s Memorial Wall.
This is a free and fun event and the students and families would like to invite the community to attend.
Performing “Hamlet” this year are members of the ROCKET group (Rad Oregon Coast Kids Educating Together). ROCKET was organized seven years ago by a motivated and involved group of homeschooling parents and kids.
The group works together to provide meaningful opportunities for their children to learn. There are regular field trips, a yearly field day at Honeyman State Park, weekly science class and, of course, Shakespeare.
Members of the public are invited to join ROCKET for its presentation of “Hamlet” at one or both of the performances.
People are asked to bring a blanket or chair for comfort.
