Reedsport cancels all non-essential meetings

Both City of Reedsport and its Main Street Program will cancel all meetings through April

March 16, 2020 — Due to recent developments with the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Reedsport Main Street Program (RMSP) will be following precedent of the City of Reedsport programs and cancelling all non-essential meetings. Cancelled events include the business workshop that was to be held on Tuesday, March 17, the regular monthly board meeting that was to be held on Wednesday, March 18, and the Centennial Community Barbecue that was to be held on Saturday, March 21.

The business workshop was one in a series of monthly workshops, co-hosted by Southwestern Oregon Community College’s (SWOCC) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce.

SWOCC has cancelled all in-person events and classes through April 8. RMSP will reassess with SWOCC and the Chamber at that point about rescheduling.

The community barbecue was going to be the final event of Reedsport’s 2019 Centennial celebration. As a City of Reedsport program, RMSP will follow City of Reedsport discretion and precedent on when to resume activities. RMSP will send out information on a rescheduled event at that time.

March’s board meeting will not be rescheduled. As of right now, April’s regularly- scheduled board meeting will remain on the calendar for Wednesday, April 15 at 4:30 p.m. in the Reedsport City Hall conference room, but will ultimately be dependent on whether COVID-19 social isolation efforts are still underway at that point.
