RAIN plans accelerator for entrepreneurs

Oregon Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network’s (RAIN) 2020 Florence Pre-Accelerator is now open for applications. It is open to Florence-area entrepreneurs, startups and businesses looking to progress into the next phase of development.

The program is led by RAIN Coastal Venture Catalyst Ariel Ruben and select guest instructors.

“This is 100 percent free to all participants,” Ruben said. “Apply today for our 12-week Pre-X, where you will learn from entrepreneurs and community leaders about the skills needed to launch and scale your business.”

The Florence Pre-Accelerator is conducted over six in-person evening sessions every other Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. from Jan. 9 to March 19 and will culminate in a showcase on April 23. Participants must be able to commit to at least five of the meetings and attend the showcase.

Over the course of 12 weeks, participating businesses will cover a range of topics including marketing and sales, financials and business modeling, and pitching and fundraising. They will address these topics through seminars and workshops, group and 1-on-1 mentoring, one-page business plans and more.

Applications are due before midnight on Dec. 6.
