Public Works closes 35th Street for hazard tree removal Aug. 4

Closure from 9 to 11 a.m.; detour in place

Aug. 4, 2022 — According to the City of Florence, 35th Street between Myeena Loop (west) and Myeena Loop (east) will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 4, between 9 and 11 a.m. in order to remove three hazard trees.

Traffic west bound on 35th Street (heading towards Rhododendron Drive) will be detoured onto Myenna Loop to Siano Loop and then back onto 35th outside of the work area.

Traffic east bound on 35th (heading towards Highway 101) will be detoured onto Myeena Loop just east of Rhododendron Drive.

Traffic will continue on Myeena Loop to 35th Street outside of the work area, where people will be able to continue towards Hwy 101.

These detours will allow the efficient movement of traffic as Florence Public Works crews drop the hazard trees; remove the debris and clean the area before traffic is restored on 35th Street.

Signage, barricades and traffic control will be placed in order for the motoring public to navigate the detour route. Residents and businesses are advised to use alternate routes to avoid the work area Thursday.

If you do need to travel in the 35th Street corridor, the detour will be in place. People are asked to slow down, be attentive to signage and be aware that the detour is through a residential area that does not typically receive this much traffic.

The city would like to extend its thanks to the community and emergency response partners for their patience as crews remove these hazard trees.
