Paul Thomas Rader

Paul was born September 25, 1954 in Greeley, CO and passed away February 28, 2023 in Florence, OR.   

As an “Air Force Brat” he lived in Lubbock, TX; Sacramento, CA; Spangdahlem, Germany; Alexandria, LA; and Minot, ND where he graduated high school. 

Paul then served in the Army with duty in Korea.  After his Army service, he joined the Coast Guard, stationed in Newport, Oregon. 

He then returned to Sacramento, where he worked for SMUD maintaining substations until retirement.  After many years in Sacramento, he moved up to the Oregon coast in Florence. 

Paul had 2 Great Danes over the years.  When they say a dog owner looks like their dog, they nailed it with “Too Tall Paul” and his Danes.  He was a dog’s best friend. 

Paul had a smile and laugh that were infectious.  He was a kind and loving brother, cousin, uncle and friend.  He will be sorely missed. 

He is survived by his sisters Julie Lindke (Fred-Marengo, Iowa), Beth Rader (Lincoln, California), and his nephew Jakob Lindke (Carlisle, Pennsylvania).  Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
