Oregon Dunes Triathlon & Duathlon makes rainy return

Athletes run, bike and swim to finish line
June 15, 2022 — The Oregon Dunes Triathlon and Duathlon took place on Saturday, June 11, under rainy conditions, with participants from across the country competing in the various divisions of the Olympic level event.
The company producing the competition, Best in the West Events, reported 159 participants from ages 16 thru 92 took part in this year’s race.
The Oregon Dunes Triathlon and Duathlon includes four races with exciting, scenic courses starting with a swim in Woahink Lake, participants then bike along country roads of Dunes City, and a run through the winding trails and campground of Honeyman State Park.
The race finishes with an epic climb up the Oregon Dunes.
During the event, Best in the West Events owner Blair Bronson said, “Everything is going great! We are just glad to be back. This is one of our favorite events. We have racers of all ages here today and we are just happy to be here with so many great athletes. “
The overall winner of the Triathlon was Samuel Dannenbring with a winning time of 2:21:20, with Levi Chisholm taking second and Eric Brown taking third place.
