Multiple MVA sends local motorcyclist to hospital


April 14, 2020 — Monday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m., Florence police and emergency crews responded to a two-car accident that also involved a motorcyclist at the intersection of 35th Street and Highway 101.

The operator of one vehicle failed to stop at a red light, striking a second vehicle in the process and causing it to strike the motorcyclist.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Peace Harbor Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The drivers of the vehicles were not injured.

The first driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

The accident closed both the north- and south-bound lanes of Highway 101 for approximately 40 minutes.
