Sept. 18, 2019 — Habitat for Humanity’s yearly Beachwalk took place under sunny skies Saturday, with just enough breeze for a spectacular kite display at the finish line of the event at Driftwood Shores. Final figures for one of the organization’s major fundraising efforts were still being tabulated by press time Tuesday, but many multi-generational participants walked from the North Jetty Parking Lot to Driftwood Shores.
Teams and individuals who raised $100 were given purple T-shirts, which spotted the beach with bright color. Music, refreshments and goodwill were shared with those who completed the walk. Large interactive bubbles and the dozens of large colorful kites provided by Archie and Jeanie Clay of the Rogue Valley Windchasers were the perfect complement to the beautiful day and good intentions of the walkers.
