Jan. 31, 2018 — Michael David Ternyik, 52, formerly of Florence, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, in Longview, Wash.
Mike was born Nov. 2, 1965, in Florence, graduating in 1984 from Siuslaw High School, where he was named Outstanding Senior Boy of his class.
He had a passion for playing his drums and pursued that passion throughout his life, playing with many bands including Supernaut, Sweaty Nipples, Everclear, The Chad Williams Band and more.
Mike loved his family so much and was incredibly proud of his children; becoming a father was one of his greatest joys. He had a genuine love for his friends and was always happy to see them. His big smile always showed his huge heart.
Mike also loved his God passionately, wanting everyone he cared for to know Him, too.
Mike is survived by his wife, Crystal, and their two children: Jadon and Katelyn; his parents, Wilber and Joyce Ternyik of Florence; his sister, Kathi Smith and her husband, Jim, of Eagle Creek; his brother Matt Ternyik and his wife, Wendi, of Florence; his brother Bill Vermilyea and his wife, Kathy, of Mapleton; his sister Patti Mead and her husband, Bill, of Florence; and many neices and nephews who loved him.
Join family and friends for a celebration of his life on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m., at the Florence Events Center.
