McHENRY-HOLLAND—Marie McHenry-Holland (née Kambic) was born in San Francisco on Oct. 5, 1925.
She grew up in San Francisco, where she married Larry Shea in 1946.
They had four children (still living): Donna, Mike (Julie), Marc (Maxine), and Jeff (Novita) Shea.
After their divorce, Marie remarried in 1963 and moved with her children to Millbrae, Calif.
That marriage also ended in divorce. In 1975 she married Vic McHenry; they moved to Oregon, living in Camp Sherman and later in Bend.
Vic died in 1994. In early 2000, Marie met W. B. “Dub” Holland. The couple married, eventually moving to Florence, Ore., and then to California in 2012 (Lincoln and Roseville).
Throughout her life, Marie was attractive, stylish and fun-loving. Over her 95 years, she enjoyed and became an expert at many hobbies, including golf, word games, bridge, cribbage, cooking, weaving, fishing, cross-country skiing, photography, traveling, hiking, reading and especially dancing with Dub.
Their joy when dancing (and in each other) was a delight to behold. This kind, vivacious, and loving soul passed away in Roseville, Calif., on Oct. 22, 2020, after a brief struggle with cancer.
In addition to her husband, Dub, and her children, Marie is survived by eight grandchildren: Dan, Peter (Allyson), Jacob (Lindsay), Ben, Jordan, Lani, Ian and Ryan Shea; four great-grandchildren Cameron, Connor, Eli and Isaac Shea; six of her stepchildren: Steve Tregenza, Joyce Harper, Mike (Kim) McHenry, Jette Havens, Vicki Small, and Lynette (Gary) Blake; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Doherty, Bob and Don Kambic.
Marie made friends easily and was loved by everyone who knew her. Her family and friends mourn her passing, but we are all grateful to have had such a strong, engaging, positive person in our lives for so many years.
