Maurice E. (Mort) McIntyre, passed away on November 28, 2022.

McINTYRE—In loving memory of Maurice E. (Mort) McIntyre, who passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was a beloved husband and father. He was 83 years old.

He was born to Thelma and Joseph McIntyre in Jacksonville, Ore., on Dec. 23, 1938. After high school, Mort served his country by spending four years in the Air Force. Afterwards, his love of the outdoors led him to a career with the Oregon Game Commission. Eventually, however, his curiosity in a new contraption in the late 1960s, called the computer, led him to a decades-long career as a systems analyst.

Upon retirement, Mort settled in Florence, Ore., where he enjoyed the rest of his days.

Mort’s love of nature and sport never wavered. He was an avid hunter for as long as possible and lifelong baseball fan. In his later years, he enjoyed watching baseball on the TV, playing poker with his friends, and calling weekly bingo for the Florence Coast Village community.

Mort is preceded by his first wife Oteka, and survived by Joan, his wife of 48 years, and his four children, Christina, Bradley, Paul, and Ann.

In his normal demure way, and not wanting to make “fuss,” no public service is scheduled. In remembrance, please just send Mort a kind prayer.
