JERICHO—Mary Lee (Cade) Jericho died on March 16, 2022, due to age related issues.
Born in Los Angeles, Calif., on her father’s 23rd birthday on Oct. 3, 1954, to Everett R. and Sara V. (Youngblood) Cade, Mary was a welcome addition to this young family.
Mary grew up in Oregon, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in sociology. With a passionate and abundantly clear vocal position on political and environmental topics, Mary supported too many causes to list.
She moved to Japan for seven years to teach English as a second language. She did additional international travel including France and England, and spent time walking the beaches in Hawaii.
Mary lived as an undiscovered artist, finding pleasure in her artwork on an enormous number of mediums. She lived for the hunt at library book sales for “that writer” who would come join her to transport her to the lands not yet visited.
Her passing will leave a hole in the many hearts that have loved her during her miraculous, yet difficult, life.
Mary is survived by her father, Everett Cade, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jim Harris, and Cindy Carrere and Don Webb. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sara Cade.
Mary’s salutation of choice — Bye Bye For Now.
Arrangements are through Burns's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home in Florence, Ore.
