Tuesday night, Mapleton was on the road in the Eagles’ nest at McKenzie High School, where the Sailors split the night.
The girls were the first to tip off against a high-pressure Eagles defense that has managed to go 2-1 in the Mountain West League so far this season, creating a tie with Alsea.
The Lady Sailors had no luck controlling McKenzie’s momentum before falling 13-59.
Lowell remains undefeated at 2-0 to lead the MWL girls division.
The boys, meanwhile, handed the Eagles their second-straight loss with a hard-fought 59-39 road victory that improves Mapleton to 2-1 with Lowell and Eddyvile in the MWL. Triangle Lake leads the league at 2-0.
