Lois June (Love) Claspill

Aug. 8, 2020 — Lois June (Love) Claspill passed away Aug. 2, 2020.
Lois was born June 22, 1941 in Everett, Wash. She spent her earliest years with her family in Skykomish, Wash.
The Love family — Rudy and Ida Love, and children Beverly, David and Lois — moved to Mapleton, Ore., in 1951.
Lois graduated from Mapleton High School in 1959.
When she was working at Lane County Bank, Lois met her future husband, Roger Paul Claspill. They were married on Oct. 5, 1963, and settled in Florence, Ore.
In 1965 their son Roger Jr. was born, and in 1968 their daughter Trudy was born.
Lois worked at several Florence-area businesses, including banks and grocery stores, but her favorite job was working at the Florence Area Humane Society until her retirement, where she fulfilled her lifelong love for animals.
Lois loved camping with her husband in their motor home, which they did with a local travel group.
Lois is survived by her husband, Roger, her children Roger Jr. and Trudy, and her brother David Love.
For health and safety reasons, no celebration of life is being scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local animal rescue organization such as the Oregon Coast Humane Society.

KELLIS—Mary Kellis of Florence passed away July 20, 2020.
She was born on March 13, 1921, in Silverton, Ore. She graduated from Klamath Union High School, in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Mary served in the US Coast Guard from 1944 to 1946.
She received a bachelor’s degree in international relations from USC and masters in linguistics from American University. She worked for the US State Department in the Information Services branch of the Foreign Service. She retired from the United Nations Library, where she worked as a librarian in the information services department.
