Local musicians to tour Europe

Three students chosen for honor
June 23, 2022 — Three current or former Siuslaw students have been chosen to participate in the 2022 Oregon Ambassadors of Music (OAM) European music performance tour.
OAM is an honor choir and band combining Oregon’s finest high school musicians for a tour where students will visit and perform in iconic locations in western Europe.
Three musicians were selected from Florence: Ross Richmond and Jackie Hendricks-Davis for band and Eryn Morgan for choir.
Richmond just completed his first year at Lane Community College in Eugene and is a 2021 graduate of Siuslaw High. He plays baritone, euphonium, tuba and sousaphone and has been in band since 6th grade.
Hendricks-Davis graduated from Siuslaw last month. He plays saxophone, piccolo and flute.
He plans to pursue a career as a nail technician or band director.
Morgan will be a senior at Siuslaw next year. She has been singing in the choir since 6th grade.
This will be OAM’s 14th European concert tour since 1995. In 2019, the last time the tour occurred, more than 350 students and 40 staff representing more than 120 Oregon high schools participated. Over the years, more than 3,500 Oregon students have enjoyed this experience.
