Members of Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue, along with Western Lane Ambulance and Florence Police, responded to a 911 call involving a fully-involved home fire at approximately 11:45 p.m. last night. The fire started on the second level of a duplex and was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The upper level was unoccupied, and the resident of the lower level, George Roach, was safely evacuated by a neighbor after her dog alerted her to the fire. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Thursday morning.
