Jeraldine N. Eisenbrandt (Jeri)

Jeraldine N. Eisenbrandt (Jeri) died September 1, 2022

EISENBRANDT—Jeraldine N. Eisenbrandt (Jeri) died September 1, 2022, after a long life filled with many adventures.

Preceding her in death were her parents Twila and Roy Swearingen, her brother Lowell, her sisters Gen (Pitman) and Arros (Love), her son Bill (McBride), and her grandson Tim (Mills), as well as her husbands John (Jack) McBride and Richard (Dick) Eisenbrandt.

Jeri was born on the North Fork of the Siuslaw River in 1930. She was raised on a dairy farm there. While she didn’t enjoy the dairy farm life, she loved having a garden, especially tomatoes.

She graduated from Springfield High School, and married Jack McBride. They would have eight children, moved to Idaho for a time, and back to Oregon, settling in Corvallis. Later, she moved back to Florence to be near her sister Gen.

Jeri was very independent-minded, always trying to find a way to do what she wanted. It led to her many interests and to discover many talents. She drove a school bus, became an inventor — inventing a jar opener and games for her kids — was an artist, once carving a wooden life-sized whale, painted, did pastels, made beautiful floral arrangements and crocheted many afghans.

She was a pool player, traveler, bingo player, practical joker, collector and had many, many friends.

She is survived by her daughters Jackie (Twiss) and Sandy (McBride), her sons Dwight, Doug, Dean, and Scott (McBride), her granddaughter Jill (Twiss), and grandsons Noah, Jenson, and Grayson (McBride).

Jeri’s family would like to thank the staff of New Friends Care Facility for the wonderful care they provided for our mother. Also thanks to Peace Health Palliative Care and Hospice for the many ways they helped comfort and care for Mom.

A Celebration of Life is pending for Jeri. Burns's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home is trusted with arrangements.
