Sept. 11, 2019 — Janet Schnurr, 82, passed away at her home in Bend, Ore., on Aug. 27, 2019.
Janet was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Peoria, Ill. She married Jack Schnurr on June 25, 1966, in California.
The family lived in Drain, Ore., before moving to Florence, Ore., in 1999. She loved her time by the ocean and spent many days walking the shores and collecting rocks and shells.
She also collected wooden, rustic Santa Claus figurines.
Janet was very introspective and enjoyed journaling her thoughts. She was a lifelong learner, leading her to be an avid reader. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Celtic music. Janet was very interested in her family’s genealogical history and had compiled volumes listing the family’s ancestry.
She and Jack moved to Bend in 2019 to be closer to family.
Survivors include Jack, her husband of 53 years, of Bend; her sons: David Shrout of Florida and Rodger Shrout of California; daughter Terri Shrout of Nevada; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
Janet also leaves behind her stepson and his wife, Jack and Michelle Schnurr, of Carson City, Nev.; and stepdaughter, Judy Lawton, of Redmond, Ore.
Janet was preceded in death by her brother and her stepson-in-law, Ken Lawton.
