Janet Beecher Light

Janet Beecher Light, passed away June 27, 2023.

Janet Beecher Light -

The clouds hung low in the sky on the morning of the 27th of June when Janet Beecher Light left us behind to join her mother and father, Benjamin and Janet Beecher, and her brothers, Dan, Tom, and Perry George Beecher, and her nephew Jesse Beecher.

Janet is a one-of-a-kind human being, a woman loved by many, who will be missed for the rest of our lives. She was always there for those she loved, and though she cherished her independence, she also wrapped each and every person she loved in a warm embrace, and opened her door to all of those who knocked.

Janet was born in San Francisco, but moved to Florence Oregon at a young age, and spent the rest of her life in the Florence, Mapleton area. She did many adventures in life, but the most time was spent cooking, and all of us loved everything she made. She loved to hike and swim, and, and go on new adventures. We’re still in shock at losing the anchor to our family, the person to bring us all together. She died far too young, but she lived her life to the fullest up until the last minute. We’re all grateful for this.

Janet will be greatly missed by her children, Cassandra and Michael Light, her grandchildren, Jasmine and Jesse, her surviving siblings, Ben and Laura, her best friends, Rita, Jennifer, and Sally, and her many, many nephews and nieces, and great nephews and nieces who we can all say has been our favorite from the time we knew what the word auntie meant. There are many tears in saying goodbye, and many blessings in knowing she’ll one day embrace us again.

We love you Mom, Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Friend. We love you more than a few words in a paper can express. We love you, and we will miss you, and think of you every day for the rest of our lives. We love you. It can’t be said enough.

We’re having a service for Janet at the Pacific Sunset Cemetery off of Hwy 101 to the left right after the bridge. Go to the top left of the cemetery where the Beecher Bench is. We’ll have her service there at 1PM on the 15th of July. Thank you to all who loved this amazing woman. We appreciate you so much.
