Sept. 30, 2019 — Each year the Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County hosts one of the area’s premier events. The third annual Homecoming Gala will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Florence Events Center.
This year’s theme is “A Taste of Tuscany.” The goal is to raise $100,000 while providing attendees a memorable evening of fine dining, live music and entertainment, and live and silent auctions, as the community gathers to support the ongoing success of Boys and Girls Club as a vital organization.
Tickets for the event are $75.
Returning this year is international award-winning jazz/pop singer-songwriter Halie Loren.
“This year’s theme is ‘A Taste of Tuscany,’ and I am all about it, Grazie Mille,” Loren wrote about the event. “Matthew Treder, Sean Peterson, Ryan Biesack and I are so excited to yet again be a part this fantastic event benefitting such a worthy cause!”
The Homecoming Gala is the club’s largest, most impactful annual event. Proceeds help fund local after school programs.
During the evening, attendees will hear heartwarming stories of how the community helps scores of at-risk youth in our community. The event celebrates the important role the afterschool programs play in keeping the children in Florence safe, engaged and inspired, as Boys and Club prepares them to be successful adults.
“The club receives no federal or state funding,” said Executive Director Chuck Trent. “We have no large corporate sponsors. All of our financial support is provided directly from generous community members like you, and all of the proceeds go directly to benefit boys and girls only in our community.”
Join us on Saturday, Oct. 5, to help prepare kids for the world that awaits them, and to become leaders through academic programs like Power Hour, sports programs, and mentoring/life skills programs such as Managing Money, SMART Girls and Passport To Manhood.
