STONE—Helen Marie Stone passed away Aug. 17, 2021, at the age of 79 from complications of Myelodysplasia Syndrome.
Helen was born in Berkeley, Calif., to Robert and Barbara Johnson. She graduated from Castro Valley High School, Castro Valley, Calif., in 1959.
Helen met and married Kenneth Stone in 1965 while both were employed at the University of California Veterinary School in Davis, Calif. Shortly thereafter they moved to Denver, Colo, where Ken entered graduate school at the University of Colorado Medical Center.

Over the next many years, the family moved to various parts of the country following Ken’s job opportunities. At each location, Helen worked as a secretary, usually in a medical field.
Finally, in 1999, they sort of retired to Florence, Ore. Helen, though, continued to work another 20 years as a medical transcriptionist for PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Hospital.
Helen was active in the Presbyterian Church as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
