GRAY—Hazel Gray, 87, passed away peacefully March 10, 2021

GRAY—Hazel Gray, 87 of Florence, Ore., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 10, 2021.

Hazel was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Gobel, Ore., to Grace (Armstrong) and Walter Fowler.

Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. 

She loved her family above all else and enjoyed building special memories with each of them. She was happiest in the outdoors and treasured her nature walks and gardening.

She looked forward to her summer kayak adventures well into her 80s! She will be remembered for her kid, generous and loving heart, as well as her wonderful mischievous sense of humor.

She was employed by Murphy Company as an office manager for many years.

Hazel married Leslie Gray, May 27, 1961. Together they enjoyed many travels, camping, excursions and family adventures. They loved a competitive game of marbles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years; children Linda Gray, Arnie (Rita) Gray, Brian Chapman (Tess Mae), Valerie Rowlands, Jan Andrade (Darrel), Cathy Leben, Kenneth Gray (Pat); 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as her loving caregiver and companion, Deborah Brookhart.

A celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
