Nov. 2, 2017 — Gordon W. Bradford 80, of Florence, passed away to eternal life Nov. 18, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Eileen; his dog, Misty; four children: Allyson, Janine, Jennifer and Michael; his former wife, Patricia Bradford; his brother, Philip Bradford of Hillsboro, Ore.; nine grandchildren: Travis, Ashley, McKenna, Luke, Shaun, Ryan, Kayla, Megan and Sarah; and one great-grandchild, Aiden.
Gordon was born Sept. 29, 1937, to Genevieve and Harry Bradford in Portland, Ore. He was a graduate of the University of Portland and served America as a member of the United States Army.
He was a teacher in his early career and worked for the American Cancer Society. He retired from the Oregon State Hospital as a behavioral therapist.
Gordon accomplished many different things in his life. He loved being a mountain climber and taking his children on many hikes in Oregon. He loved fishing and so did Misty.
He also had a passion for gardening, wood carving, reading and life’s adventures. Gordon loved laughing, joking around, and his favorite song was “Welcome to my world!”
Gordon would never like to say goodbye to his friends and family; he would say “Happy trails until we meet again” and “Wagons Ho!”
We would like to say to our husband, father, brother and grandfather: Happy trails until we meet again! Wagons Ho! Fish On! Say ‘Hi’ to Lucy for us!”
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at Burns’s Riverside Chapel at 1 p.m. Following the service, a gathering will be held at Florence Senior Center from 2 to 4 p.m.
Burns’s Riverside Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
