Glenn Ferd (Mick) Jenkins

Glenn Ferd (Mick) Jenkins passed away June 5, 2022.

JENKINS—Glenn Ferd (Mick) Jenkins, son of Glenn (Dob) and Margurite (Leola) McCain Jenkins, passed away June 5, 2022, at his home in Mapleton, Ore., at the age of 92.

Mick was born in Rock Elm, Wis., March 19, 1930, the oldest of seven. He moved with his family to Oregon in 1936.

Mick graduated from Mapleton High School in 1948 and married Joanne Wheeler in 1949. They had three children. He worked in the timber industry and was a gifted man, building a log home, log furniture and fireplaces as a stone mason. He was a pilot and built three airplanes. Mick also loved to read. In 1989, he married Nancy Campbell and in 2005, he married Jackie Akerley.

He is survived by his wife Jackie of 17 years; his three children, Jacqueline (Neil) Biloff of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Craig (Tami) Jenkins and Kim (Terry) McKinnis of Mapleton, Ore.; four step-children, Heather Campbell, Tim (Diane) Wilkinson, Jody (Jennifer) Wilkinson and Jill Newman; four siblings, Jack (Nora) Jenkins, Patricia Garroutte, Maryli Sisson and Suzann Winder; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joanne, brothers William and Thomas and granddaughter Ginger Biloff.

Mick was a member of the Florence Seventh-day Adventist Church and will be interred next to his wife in the Mapleton Pioneer Cemetery.
