July 3, 2019 — Glena “Sue” Lindsey Robinow, 84, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019.
Sue was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Seminary, Miss., to Susan (Bullock) Dearman and James Dearman.
Sue went to Siuslaw High School in Florence, where she was also a Rhododendron Princess.
Sue, a southern belle, and Morley Lindsey, a Mapleton stand-out athlete, met and fell in love; they married in 1951.
Sue and Morley had five children. Together, Morley and Sue owned and operated Lindsey’s Market in Brickerville, Ore.
Sue was a wonderful cook. She cared for her family and helped at the store. She loved to sing and play her many record albums.
Morley passed away in 1976.
Sue married James “Jim” Robinow in 1978. Jim and Sue retired in Queens Valley, Ariz. Jim and Sue traveled to many places around the U.S. in their fifth-wheel, enjoying their retirement.
Jim passed away in 2001.
Sue then bought a home in Florence at Coast Village, spending summers in Florence and winters in Queens Valley.
Sue was proceded in death by her parents, James and Jac Dearman and Sue and Freeman Blocker; her sister, Charlene (Ira) “Buddy” Lossett; and her daughter Robyne’s husband, Cliff.
Sue is survived by her brothers: Matt (Pat) Dearman and James “June” Dearman; her children: Debra Lindsey, Greg (Nadine) Lindsey, Ken Lindsey, Robyne Hensley and Linda Lindsey; many nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Mapleton Evangelical Church on Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m.
