Jan. 22, 2020 — Gladys Pearl Wilds passed away peacefully the morning of Jan. 4, 2020, with her two loving daughters at her side.
She was born in Paradise, Mont., on May 24, 1936, the youngest of seven children to Alvin and Gladys Palmer. She loved the outdoors as a child and, as a teen, was involved in volleyball, yearbook and other school activities at Maupin High School, graduating in 1955.
She loved dancing and met her future husband, Richard Terry Wilds, at a community dance. They married in 1956 and had 60 years together before his passing. They had 3 children: Henry Franklin Wilds (deceased 1974), Cynthia Irene Dochylo and Lynne Marie Twombly.
Gladys liked traveling, having her family around her and was an excellent seamstress who sewed many of her daughters’ clothes. She also was a wonderful cookie baker.
She is survived by her two daughters, sons-in-law, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Springwater Cemetery on Jan. 25, 2020, at noon. It will be followed by a reception at the Cazadero Restaurant in Estacada, Ore.
Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
