Friends of Florence Van Fans serve community

Each weekday the Friends of Florence van offers a free shuttle service for cancer patients receiving radiation treatments from health centers in the Willamette Valley, driving from Florence to Eugene and Springfield.

For more than 30 years, the van has transported nearly 30,000 patients to their radiation treatments at the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center in Eugene and Oregon Urology Institute in Springfield.

The volunteer-driven van, which relies on individual contributions and Van Fans fundraisers to cover costs of gas and upkeep, stops for patients in Florence, Maple-ton, Walton, Noti and Veneta.
