‘Friends’ make health, safety chief concerns at FEC

(Editor’s Note: Viewpoint submissions on this and other topics are always welcome as part of our goal to encourage community discussion and exchange of perspectives.)

March 18, 2020 — Dear Friends in the Greater Florence Events Center Community:

Thank you for your patience as we the Friends of the Florence Events Center, along with the rest of the world, navigate the uncharted territory of the COVID-19 quarantine.

We’ve postponed the April 4 Curtis Salgado & Band concert, with rescheduling later in 2020. Salgado concert ticket holders have been given various refund options.

That said, beyond our events and volunteering, fundraising and the fun, our Friends members’ chief concerns are the health, wellbeing and safety of everyone at the Florence Events Center.

As they said in WWII, we are in this together “For the Duration.”

Until the restrictions are lifted, we are adhering carefully to CDC guidelines (www.cdc.gov/coronavi rus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/sum mary.html), and looking forward to welcoming everyone back to “Florence’s Living Room.”

Thank you and please stay safe!

As you are able, be the person who helps out her or his neighbor.

As Mr. Fred Rogers said, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

Yours, in the spirit of shared community...
