Free breakfast, lunch available to children 18 and younger


Kids can get at least one free meal weekdays in Florence and Mapleton

The Siuslaw School District is excited to announce that the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program will be running again for the summer of 2019. This program ensures all children have access to nutritious meals when school is not in session. The meals will run Monday to Friday each week through Aug. 16, except for July 4 and 5.

Meals are Available to ALL kids ages 18 and under.

No application necessary as the meals are served at no charge. People can drop in, as there are plenty of meals available.

This program is available to all children 18 and under, regardless of income.

People should plan on stopping by the sites below: 

Siuslaw Elementary Breezeway, 2221 Oak St.

Breakfast: 8 to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 to 11:55 a.m.

Miller Park, 1651 18th St.

Lunch: noon to 12:15 p.m.

Siuslaw Public Library, 1460 Ninth St.

Lunch: 12:20 to 12:40 p.m.

Siuslaw High School, 2975 Oak St.

Lunch: 12:45 to 1 p.m.

In addition, Mapleton Food Share is providing sack lunches for kids at Caffeination Station Monday through Day, Siuslaw Public Library Mapleton Branch Tuesday through Sunday, Mapleton High School picnic table Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the Deadwood Store Monday through Sunday. Pickup is noon to 5 p.m., first come, first served. Mapleton Food Share volunteers are also making specific area drop offs for those in need.
