Florence helps singer fill ‘Empty Spaces’ for music video

Nov. 21, 2018 — Florence performer Nyah (left photo) and her production crew consisting of her parents, Scott and Marijo Vollmar, InRage Entertainment, based in Los Angeles, and Katie O’Grady, based in Portland, Ore., brought together more than 150 people in Historic Old Town Florence Saturday to film scenes for her new music video, “Empty Spaces.”

At just 14, Nyah is working hard to produce five singles with InRage by the end of 2019.

“To the beautiful, fun people of Florence, thank you,” Nyah said in an email to those who attended. “You were awesome Saturday! We hope you had as much fun as we did.” People signed official release forms to be part of the filming, which included scenes at CROW Center for the Performing Arts, the beach, Bay Street and on the Port of Siuslaw Boardwalk with the large crowd, featuring local color and Florence favorites.

“We love the fact that Nyah’s town of Florence has gotten behind her,” said Alexandra Blackbird, executive director of artists and repertoire at InRage. “We definitely wanted to honor these fans and let her continue to grow from a natural place of beauty as she continues to create.”

The official re-lease party for “Empty Spaces” will be Feb. 16 at the Florence Events Center.

“You’re all amazing and a great example of why this community is the best,” Nyah said.
