Aug. 4, 2018 — The Florence Festival of Books Planning Committee is hard at work getting ready for the various events that are part of the festival, held Sept. 28 to 29 at the Florence Events Center.
The book fair for publishers and authors takes place Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you have published a book, that makes you eligible to participate. Only about a dozen tables are left for those considering participating. So if you plan to, get your application in.
Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. is the Keynote Speaker’s address by New York Times bestselling author Amy Stewart. She has written the popular “Girl Waits With Gun,” about one of the first deputy sheriff’s in America, and “The Drunken Botanist,” which is among her nonfiction titles.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Because of her terrific sense of humor, Stewart should be very entertaining.
Also on Friday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. is the Festival of Books’ popular author panel discussion. This year’s topic is Marketing Your Book. The panelists include Melody Carlson, Cindy Cashman, Ron Lovell and Tracy Markley — a dynamite group! Between them, their book sales total several million.
All events take place at the Florence Events Center (FEC) and only the keynote address has an admission charge.
For more information, application to participate or to buy tickets, visit www.FlorenceFestivalofBooks.org or call the FEC at 541-997-1994.
