Florence Emergency Cold Weather Shelter open at 5 p.m. today

Guests can get ride to shelter at locations around Florence

Dec. 14, 2022 — The Florence Emergency Cold Weather Shelter (FECWS) will open today, Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.  FECWS anticipates that they will be open for 6-7 days, weather/temperature dependent.

Volunteers will be transporting guests between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. from flagged locations around Florence:
* Siuslaw Public Library — 1460 9th Street
* Safeway — 700 Highway 101 (on Hwy. 101 and at bus kiosk)
* Linda's 37th St Coin Laundry — 1890 37th Street
* Fred Meyer — 4701 Highway 101
Volunteers will also pick any foot traffic that is need of shelter.
The FECWS cannot accommodate families with children.
The FECWS is located near Fred Meyer at 3996 N Highway 101. Look for the flags on Highway 101.
