May 14, 2022 — The Florence Farmers Market opened on Tuesday with some vegetables and plenty of baked goods, mushrooms and pickled veggies to begin the season. New this year is the Community Table, where those with smaller harvests and limited offerings can sell their goods. “It went really well today, and there was a pretty good turnout for the first week,” said Britte Kirsch, volunteer coordinator. “The new Community Table pretty much sold out.” Florence Farmers Market will be held every Tuesday through Oct. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bay and Kingwood streets, by Veteran's Memorial Park in Historic Old Town Florence. “We should see a lot more vendors over the next few weeks,” Kirsch said. “We are just really glad to be back and look forward to a fun, successful season.” People attending the market can expect live music, new Local Matters mini-classes, baked goods, bento boxes, produce, meats, eggs, goats' milk and more throughout the season.
