Hwy. 126 travelers should expect additional delays
VENETA — Travelers should expect up to 20-minute delays on weekdays along Highway 126 between Florence and Eugene Highway for the next several weeks as crews replace bridge railings on a small bridge to the west of Fischer Road.
Beginning this Monday, May 6, one lane will be closed 24 hours a day during the week. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. The road will be open on weekends.
This is part of the Highway 126 Paving Project between Veneta and Eugene that began last summer. Crews are also widening the westbound shoulder between Shady Rest Lane and Lake Side Drive, and are constructing two bus pullouts near Ellmaker Road.
Travelers may have a second stop as 24-hour lane closures continue at the passing lane project west of Walton. 24-hour lane closures end Friday, May 10, at noon. Weekday lane closures will resume on Monday, May 13.
Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
