March 16, 2019 — The Florence Police Department participated in extra DUII Enforcement during the Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 3.
During this event, the Florence Police Department arrested one driver for driving while impaired, issued eight warnings for miscellaneous traffic offenses, and issued two citations for driving while suspended.
Throughout the month of February, the Florence Po-lice Department arrested a total of six drivers for driving while impaired.
Law Enforcement agencies throughout Oregon and the rest of the United States participate in nationwide efforts to get impaired drivers off the street.
High Visibility Enforcement, accomplished by increasing the number of officers on the streets aggressively seeking out impaired drivers, is designed to deter people from driving after they have been drinking.
