David Ralph Cheeseman

Sept 20, 1946- March 9, 2023

Dave Cheeseman was born in Clovis, California to Harold and Vivian Cheeseman.

Dave served his country from 1964 to 1969 in the U.S. Navy as a jet aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War. After his service he met his future wife Joyce Price in Bass Lake, California and were married in 1970.

He worked as a mechanic in the area until a friend helped him with an opportunity at the Curry company in Yosemite National Park.

Then, he found a position for heavy equipment mechanic at Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado in 1977. There, his family acclimated to the mountains and snowy winters. He enjoyed hunting and fishing all over Colorado and Wyoming.  He transferred to the Bureau of Reclamation in Grand Lake, Colorado for a few years where hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling entertained his family. After a short stint back in Estes Park, opportunity once again took him to where his heart belonged; Wyoming. There he fished for walleye, salmon, and trout. Hunted world class deer, elk, and an occasional duck or coyote.

Once his father moved to Florence, Oregon, Dave and Joyce decided to be close to family and moved to the coast of Oregon in 2004.

He has had several close friends in Colorado, Wyoming, and Oregon that meant so much to him.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Gail Blask of Coarsegold, CA and Shari (Steve) Kenyon of Hayward, CA, his son Michael (Linde) Cheeseman of Keno, OR, his daughter Michelle Aultman of Casper, WY and her two daughters Elliana Moore and Gabriella Aultman.
