Cold Weather Shelter to reopen Saturday night


Weather predictions may necessitate extended service through Monday night

The Florence Emergency Cold Weather Shelter will be open tomorrow, Feb. 9, and Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Presbyterian Church, 3996 Highway 101 in Florence.
 
Registration of guests will begin at 5 p.m. each day with supper  served at 6 p.m. The shelter will remain open until 8 a.m. Sunday morning. A hot breakfast will be served at 7 a.m.
Transportation is available from the Siuslaw Public Library, Safeway and Fred Meyer beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday. 
 
If the present weather forecast holds, the shelter will also be open  Monday night, Feb. 11. If the shelter will be open, the call will be made Sunday morning and cold weather shelter flags will be placed at strategic locations around Florence.
Those flags are placed before 9 a.m. on days the shelter will be open.
